Ashley, now aged 15, picked up her first golf club at the age of 4. Having left her native South Africa, Ashley who now lives in south Warwickshire has been described by her coach as "a natural".
This assessment was underlined by her success in becoming the National Champion in the 7/8 year group in 2002. This was followed by her selection to represent England at the US Kids Golf 2003 World Championships in Virginia, USA.
Ashley went on to win the regional qualifier for the 2005 Wee Wonders Open Golf Championship which took place in September 2005 at St. Andrews, and also won the 'Age 14 Girls European Championships', in Gullane Scotland whilst improving her handicap to 4.9.
More recently Ashley came 3rd in the Scottish Girls U16; won the Warwickshire Schools Amateur Championships in April this year; came 5th in the English Schools Championship; has qualified for the English International Team, who will play against Scotland later this year; and played in County Week for Warwickshire, against Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Worcestershire, and won, and will now play in the County Finals being held in September this year.
