Ashley, now aged 14, picked up her first golf club at the age of 4. Having left her native South Africa, Ashley who now lives in south Warwickshire has been described by her coach as "a natural".

This assessment was underlined by her success in becoming the National Champion in the 7/8 year group in 2002. This was followed by her selection to represent England at the US Kids Golf 2003 World Championships in Virginia, USA.

Ashley won the regional qualifier for the 2005 Wee Wonders Open Golf Championship which took place in September 2005 at St. Andrews.

More recently however, she has won the 'Age 14 Girls European Championships', in Gullane Scotland and she has improved her handicap to 4.9.
