What is it like to work at WH? - Wright Hassall

What is it like to work at WH?

Don’t just take our word for it - meet some of our people to find out what they think about working at Wright Hassall.

David Slade, Partner

"I came to Wright Hassall at the start of 2004 after nine years with one of the very big firms in the centre of Birmingham. I was looking for a more attractive location, a closer-knit working environment, and generally a bit of a change of tack. Wright Hassall has easily provided those, but not at the expense of the quality of work I'm involved in. The combination of challenging and exciting work for high profile clients and a good quality of life produces a happy balance which makes me glad I chose Wright Hassall."

Richard Herdman, Solicitor

"I was first attracted to Wright Hassall by the possibility of working in an expanding commercial firm which at the same time had an obvious friendly side to it. It hasn’t disappointed – I believe the experience gained as a trainee will stand me in good stead for my future career as a Solicitor. I really enjoy working at the firm and believe part of the reason for this is the fact that there always seems to be plenty to do socially. In my first week I was welcomed along to the weekly football evening - which I have now found myself organising. This has been a great way to get to know people around the firm. In addition to the football I have also taken advantage of the subsidised gym membership and enjoy the summer cricket fixtures and various drinks evenings."

Gay Tookey, Senior Receptionist

"I applied for a vacancy here in 1978. As my sister-in-law was employed at Wright Hassall at that time, and still is, I thought it must be a pleasant place to work. I am still here 27 years later and I am now the Senior Receptionist. Over the years, I have seen many changes at Wright Hassall, mainly good ones. Wright Hassall have grown in size but they are still a caring firm."

Cathy Sheehan, Secretary to Managing Partner

"When I came to write this  I recalled what my aims and goals were when I first joined WH - what I wanted from WH, and what WH had to offer. Like most new employees, I was uncertain of what the future held and how things would go. Over the years WH have always encouraged and supported me and made me feel that my contribution has been worthwhile and valued. I have made many friends here and hope to make many more. The work has always been interesting and challenging."
