We can offer a limited number of places for students who are looking to find out more about what life is really like in a law firm.
From our experience with students we have answered some of the questions that are most frequently asked about our work placement schemes. Please read the following questions before you apply.
What skills and experience should I have to be considered for a work placement?
You should be an undergraduate and currently studying for a law related degree. You should have a keen desire to want to pursue a career in law and continue to take the LPC.
When can I do my work placement?
The majority of placements are in the summer period, however we do consider placements for other times of the year.
How long can I spend with WH?
We have numerous requests for work placements and therefore we can only offer one week.
What can I expect from a work placement?
You will get the chance to experience a variety of different practice areas and where possible make a contribution in helping with the work within a team.
What are the hours of work for a placement?
Normal office hours will apply to all placements; 9am to 5.30pm, with 1¼ hours for lunch.
When should I apply for a work placement?
We are no longer accepting applications for 2008. You will be able to apply for work placements in 2009 from January 2009 onwards.
How should I apply for a work placement?
We can only accept applications by completion of an on-line application form.
When will I know whether I have been successful in securing a work placement?
We only have a limited number of places available for work placements and therefore we are unable to offer places to everyone who applies. We will be in contact with all applicants to confirm whether they have been successful following the closing date.
If I am successful what will happen next?
You will be contacted and given all the information that you will need about your placement and a chance to ask any further questions that you may have.
If I am unsuccessful in securing a work placement for this year can I apply again?
Yes if you are unsuccessful this year you are welcome to try again next year.
