Foot and Toe Injuries
If you have suffered a foot or toe injury your injury may fall within one of the following brackets.
Foot injuries
Amputation of both feet - £111,000 to £132,000
Amputation of one foot - £55,000 to £72,000
Very severe - £55,000 to £72,000
This includes permanent injuries with severe pain orreally serious permanent disability
Severe injuries include fractures of both heels and/or feet where there is a substantial restriction on mobility or considerable or permanent pain. Serious injuries include grievous burns to both feet requiring multiple operations and leaving disfiguring scars.
This includes injuries resulting in displaced metatarsal fractures resulting in permanent deformity and continuing symptoms. The lower end of the bracket includes injuries such as simple metatarsal fractures, ruptured ligaments and puncture wounds.
The level of the award you may be entitled to will vary depending on the degree of any continuing disability you have sustained, the extent of any on-going symptoms and treatment you may require and the future risk of osteoarthritis.
Toe injuries
Amputation of all toes - £24,000 to £37,000
Amputation of the great toe - in the region of £20,500
Severe - £9,000 to £12,600
This includes severe crush injuries and partial amputations
- Severe - £9,000 to £12,600
- Serious - £6,300 to £9,000
This includes injuries to the great toe, crush and multiple fractures of two or more toes
This includes relatively straightforward fractures or the exacerbation of a pre-existing degenerative condition. The level of the award you may be entitled to will vary depending on the degree of any permanent disability you have sustained and the extent of any on-going symptoms and pain you are suffering from.
