Brain Damage

  • Very severe brain damage - £185,000 - £265,000

Includes injuries which mean you have little or no language function and need full-time nursing care.

  • Moderately severe brain damage - £144,000 to £185,000

Includes injuries which cause you to be very seriously disabled and substantially dependant on others with a need for constant professional.

  • Moderate brain damage - £28,250 to £144,000

Includes injuries causing you to suffer from moderate to severe intelligent deficit or your concentration or memory have been affected.

  • Minor brain damage - £10,000 to £28,250

Includes injuries where you have made a good recovery and are able to take part in a normal social life and return to work although your normal functions may not be fully restored and you may have persisting problems which interfere with your lifestyle.

  • Minor head injury - £1,450 to £8,400

Includes injuries causing you to suffer minimal brain damage.

The level of the award will depend on various factors including your life expectancy, the extent of your physical limitations and dependence on others and impact of the injury on your ability to work.
