Hospital Negligence
Miss N of Stratford-upon-Avon instructed Wright Hassall after she underwent a hip replacement operation. The operation was not carried out to a reasonable standard of care and resulted in a leg length discrepancy and soft tissue trauma which caused significant and permanent damage to her abductor muscle. Following the operation Miss N suffered 3 dislocations and needed to undergo a revision operation. Miss N has been left with a limp, is unable to walk for any distance and cannot walk upstairs or rise from a chair without using her arms. Consequently Miss N retied two years earlier than intended from her job of 42 years and experiences on-going pain. Wright Hassall secured an award of £100,000 to compensate Miss N for her pain, suffering and losses as a result of the negligent treatment.
