Accident in a Public Place

Mrs Q of Stratford-upon-Avon was a patient in a NHS hospital being treated for an existing ankle fracture. Following an x-ray of her existing fracture she was walking on her crutches whilst holding the x-ray she had been told to take with her when she slipped on a wet surface on the floor and fell. The fall caused Mrs Q’s already fractured ankle bones to move and consequently she had to undergo two operations which had not previously been necessary. Wright Hassall resolved the matter on Mrs Q’s behalf and secured £15,000 of damages to compensate her for the pain, suffering and the losses she suffered as a result of the accident.
