Dennis Turner speaks at Wright Hassall event

The outlook for the UK economy is sunnier than the summer weather according to an internationally renowned economist.

Dennis Turner, the chief economist of HSBC, was the guest at an economic forum organised and hosted by Wright Hassall at its new headquarters in Leamington.

Robert Lee, a corporate partner with Wright Hassall, said that Turner had delivered an upbeat message.

He said: “Dennis’s views have been heard and taken into account by successive governments for around 30 years and he has been very influential in leading circles.

“His over-riding message was that, despite regular predictions of gloom and doom, the UK economy has not only continued to grow over the last decade but has also outstripped most other western European countries – and provided that external circumstances stay the same he sees no reason for that to change.”
