A Coventry company that allows gardeners to grow plants all year round has moved premises after experiencing substantial growth itself.
HydroGarden Wholesale Supplies Limited, based in Binley, manufactures and distributes a wide range of hydroponics products.
They produce equipment for soil-less and organic gardening where a plant can grow at any time of the year and the company has thrived since it started trading in 1994.
HydroGarden is run by Managing Director Iain Reynolds, Finance and Operations Director Barry Geaney and Stuart Green, Sales and Marketing Director.
From initially employing just four people, the company now employs 28 staff and was recently named in the Inner City Top 100 fastest growing companies in the UK.
HydroGarden trades throughout the UK and Ireland and also exports to Austria, France, Sweden, Czech Republic, Spain, Germany, Iceland, Holland and Switzerland.
The company has recently opened a warehouse in Sydney last year to serve Australia, New Zealand and China and is currently looking into breaking the North America market.
Barry is confident that the move will allow the company to reach its ambitious targets.
He said: “We needed to move to larger premises because of continued business growth and the need to operate more efficiently’’.
“We have built a reputation over the years for offering a unique and quality service for our customers and the move will enable us to improve on that service.”
“It had got to the stage that we were moving from larger rented premises on average every 18 months to 2 years to cope with rapid business growth. We decided we needed larger premises of our own that also had the capacity and potential to expand further.”
HydroGarden was aided in their move by 200-strong Leamington law firm Wright Hassall, accountants and business advisors Harrison, Beale & Owen with funding provided by NatWest, all of whom have all worked with the company for the past five years.
Gill Worthington, an Associate in Wright Hassall’s Commercial Property Department, said: “The success that HydroGarden has achieved is tremendous and a testament to the all of the staff there.
“It is always extremely pleasing when we are able to help a local company expand within the area providing employment for local people.”
Rob said: “We have worked with the company for the past five years which has been a significant period of growth.
Ian Jones, Manager of Property Finance at NatWest added: “It is great to have been able to help HydroGarden which has proved to be a real success story in recent years.”
