Revellers in Leamington can enjoy al-fresco drinking after a leading bar became the first in Leamington to win a licence for its roof garden.
Koko’s, in Warwick Street, has created the roof top haven which can be used all year round.
The venue which opened in November 2006 is set over four floors and includes a bar, Asian-English restaurant and a nightclub, but owner Parvez Akhter wanted to reach for the sky.
He said: “We have tried to create something unique in the town with our mix of entertainment and knew we had the perfect arrangement for a roof garden.
“We have created a lovely space which can be used throughout the year and it is the final piece in our jigsaw.”
Andrew Potts of 200-strong law firm Wright Hassall, based off Europa Way in Leamington Spa,helped win the licence for Koko’s.
He said: “Leamington has a superb choice of bars and restaurants but this is offering something very different and I am sure it will prove very popular.
“I have dealt with many licence applications nationwide over the years but this is the first for a roof garden.”
