A leading technology solicitor has joined Wright Hassall as a partner.

Lindsay Ellis has joined Wright Hassall in Leamington Spa from Oxford firm Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons, where he headed the IT and outsourcing practice.

He will now lead the technology sector team at the 200-strong solicitors.

Lindsay said: “This was a good opportunity to work with a talented group in a technology-focused region.

“There was already a strong department in place and we now have the flexibility to develop it further and become the leading technology sector department in the region.

“Part of our job will be to raise awareness of the work we do. The combined experience of the team measures up to that of many London-based firms. We also have the advantage of being on the doorstep and our lower overheads mean that they get real value for money.”

Lindsay’s appointment is the latest step by the Olympus Avenue-based firm to expand its expertise in the area.

Peter Beddoes, managing partner at Wright Hassall, said: “We have invested in developing the technology sector team and Lindsay’s appointment positions it to offer the strongest service in the Midlands and beyond.

“Coventry and Warwickshire lie within the Midlands golden triangle for technology-based businesses and we want to ensure that when they need legal help, they know they have a recognised specialist on their doorstep.”
