Helpline for landlords facing tenants' rent arrears
Wright Hassall’s insolvency and property litigation teams have set up a dedicated Insolvency Helpline.
By contacting the Helpline we will advise you on the steps you can take to recover the rent arrears, whether by means of landlord specific remedies such as distraint or by threatening winding-up or bankruptcy proceedings.
If your tenant has entered bankruptcy, liquidation or administration, the Helpline will be able to advise you in connection with issues that may arise, such as:
what happens if a liquidator disclaims the lease?
is an administrator responsible for paying ongoing rent?
what happens to any distraint levied?
what remedies do you have against any guarantors?
Alternatively, simply forward any liquidation or bankruptcy notices and accompanying proxy forms to our offices and our insolvency team will get in touch with you.
For a no-obligation chat about how we can help you take steps to cover rent arrears please do not hesitate to contact Emma Easton on the Insolvency Helpline at any time on 01926 883007. Alternatively, you can email insolvency@wrighthassall.co.uk.
