Wright Hassall has agreed a new contract with FTSE 100 company TUI Travel plc until the end of 2010.
Wright Hassall will provide legal property services for TUI Travel plc in England and Wales alongside other external resources and TUI’s own in-house specialists. TUI Travel holds in excess of 900 properties including company offices, high street travel agencies and airport facilities.
Wright Hassall has acted for Thomson (and previously Lunn Poly) for some 35 years and tendered for the new contract after TUI Travel was formed by the merger of travel business Thomson and First Choice in 2007.
Gill Worthington, partner at Wright Hassall, said: “This is a very important contract for us going forward, particularly in a recession.
“It is a sign of our level of service that a FTSE 100 company has looked regionally rather than to a city firm.
“We have enjoyed a strong relationship with the staff at TUI for many years and we are thrilled that we can continue to work closely together.”
TUI Travel is part of the TUI AG Group, which employs 68,500 staff and had a turnover of £21.9 billion in 2007.
The new travel division serves 30 million UK customers and operates in 180 countries.
Gill added: “This contract produces a wide variety of challenging work and the team has always been extremely dedicated to producing the best results.
“Wright Hassall has also developed as a firm and our specialist departments can rival the big regional and national firms.
“We have also moved up in the recent Legal 500 and Chambers rankings and these are exciting times for us.”
