Wright Hassall has celebrated a special anniversary by completing a hat-trick of deals for Orbit Housing Association, part of the Orbit Group.
Forty years ago Wright Hassall played a key part in aiding the beginnings of the Orbit Group, which is one of the largest housing groups in the country providing over 27,000 affordable homes across England, and has worked for the group ever since.
Wright Hassall has completed three contracts for the Orbit Group worth in excess of £10 million for shared ownership and rented properties in the region.
Julia Whitby, a partner in the property department, said the latest deals would provide more than 150 homes for the Orbit Group.
“We work on land and property acquisition for the Orbit Group and these latest deals will see homes made available on two sites in Rugby, Warwickshire and one in Desborough, Northamptonshire.
“One of our former managing partners Jim Lord was instrumental in setting up Orbit 40 years ago. He worked with a number of people from across the country to help establish Orbit Housing General Housing Association Limited in October 1967 which then became the Orbit Housing Association in the following year.
“We have worked together ever since with the deals becoming ever larger as both parties have become bigger. The Orbit Group is one of the largest housing groups in England and it is great that we have worked together continually for such a long period.”
Wright Hassall has commercial and residential property teams and also specialises in housing and local government.
The Orbit Group is one of the largest Housing Groups in the country operating in the Midlands, the South East, the East of England and the South West to provide over 27,000 good quality affordable homes to those in greatest need.
