Wright Hassall has played a major part in the redundancy packages paid to Peugeot workers laid off by the closure of the company’s Ryton plant.
Wright Hassall, was hired by the French car giant to work on behalf of those losing their jobs.
Members of the company’s employment team were based at the plant just outside Coventry from October.
Suki Harrar, a partner at Wright Hassall, said it was one of the largest single employment job undertaken by the firm.
“We have worked for more than 1,000 members of staff going through their compromise agreements and ensuring that they were suitable for the needs of each worker.
“It is a very important process and key to the future of the staff, many of whom had worked at the plant for more than 30 years
“We were at Ryton one day a week through October and November and four of our team were based there everyday through December until the Christmas shut down, starting at 7.00am and working through.
“We dealt with more than 1,000 people in all. The work will continue into the New Year as there are management still employed there as well as people who are decommissioning the plant.”
