WH help to transform Pottertons' site

Wright Hassall has helped drive through a major deal to provide affordable homes to people in Warwick.

The former Pottertons factory site, off Emscote Road, is now being transformed into 300 new homes - and 30 per cent of these will be affordable housing.

Wright Hassall acted on behalf of Jephson Housing Association and Bromford Housing Group to provide the rented accommodation on the 20-acre former factory site, now called The Waterfront.

Julia Whitby said: “There is a requirement that new developments must provide rented, affordable units and there is a great deal of satisfaction in the conclusion of a deal such as this.

“There were a lot of complex issues as it was a former heavy industry site so I am delighted to say that we worked through those complexities and everything ran very smoothly to its conclusion.”

The factory was demolished in 2004 and the new development will contain a mixture of apartments and three to four bedroom houses.

Joanne Welch, from Jephson, said: “I would like to thank Wright Hassall for all their hard work and involvement with this deal. It has taken a long time to complete but I am really pleased to now see how the development is taking shape.

“These properties will give many people the chance to live in a pleasant environment while paying affordable rents.”
