Big heart for Acorns

Leamington law firm has a big heart for Acorns

A Leamington law firm has proved the business community does have a big heart.

Staff from 200-strong Wright Hassall wore an item of red clothing to work to raise funds for the ‘Have a Heart Day’ event, organised by the Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust, which provides care to life-limited children throughout the West Midlands and Gloucestershire.

The firm raised £126.80 by asking staff who dressed up to give a donation of £1.

Laura McNabb, of Wright Hassall, said the day was a great success.

She said: “We advertised the event on the firm’s intranet and by e-mail.  Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves on the day.

“Some employees even dressed their children in red and added a donation on their behalf.  The amount we raised exceeded our expectations.”

Andy Jarrett, employee fundraising manager of Acorns, said he was delighted Wright Hassall had chosen to give the charity their backing.

He said: “We are very grateful to Wright Hassall for their help and support in helping us to continue offering our vital package of care to children throughout the West Midlands and Gloucestershire.”

Anyone wishing to donate money to Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust can contact Andy on 0121 248 4812.
