Two businesses have thrown down the gauntlet in a battle of the fittest at this year’s Wright Hassall 10km Regency Run.
Solicitors at Wright Hassall, which sponsors the event, have challenged staff at property agents Evans Hardy Bromwich, based in Clarendon Place, to compete against them in the race on Sunday, April 15.
The teams will be amongst 1500 runners to take part in the third annual run, which organisers Leamington Round Table hope will see more than £22,000 raised for local good causes.
Jane Senior, partner at Wright Hassall, now based in Europa Way, said: “Many businesses are involved in the race each year and we thought we’d add an element of healthy competition by challenging some of our associates.
“It is an excellent event that helps many local causes and is giving our team just the motivation we need to be fighting fit to both raise money and come out on top.
“We would welcome a challenge from any other companies which have entered teams.”
Unita Evans, from Evans Hardy Bromwich, said her team were ready for the challenge.
“I have taken part in the race before and thoroughly enjoyed it so I have encouraged many of my colleagues to get involved,” she said.
“We have put ourselves under strict rules to get in shape and keep up the training and are prepared for a hard battle.”
EHB are running in the event for its sponsored charity Myton Hospice as well as Cancer Research and the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.
