Technology may move at a pace – but it seems good service remains a constant.
Lawyer Barry Sankey started working for the embryonic University of Warwick Science Park in 1982 when he was an articled clerk.
Twenty seven years later and he is still the retained property lawyer for the science park and has recently joined leading regional firm Wright Hassall.
The Warwick Innovation Centre – one of four UWSP sites – is a neighbour of Leamington-based Wright Hassall meaning Sankey’s work has never been closer.
He said: “I was based in Birmingham when I first started working on the science park project and then moved to Nottingham before returning to the West Midlands to join Wright Hassall.
“In almost 25 years, this is the nearest I have been based to one of the science park’s buildings! I really feel like we have grown up together – as my experience and expertise has increased over the years, the science park has continued to expand.
“It is now internationally renowned as a centre for cutting edge companies and has helped spawn some highly successful enterprises.
“Wright Hassall has a large corporate property team that works with household names as well as private individuals, and the science park is a welcome addition to our client portfolio.”
The University of Warwick Science Park has helped hundreds of businesses to both start-up and grow.
David Rowe, a director of UWSP, said: “It’s good news for us that Barry has moved around the corner – it will certainly make his trips to us a bit shorter!
“He has been with us through our expansion and has always been someone on whom we can rely.
“Hopefully we can continue to enjoy the successful relationship for many years to come.”
