Wootton Park and Gallus Resturant attain licences thanks to WH

Two up-and-coming venues are braced for a bright future after a Midland Legal Expert secured their licences.

Mediterranean restaurant Gallus in Leamington town centre and Wootton Park Events and Business Centre have attained a range of licences thanks to Andrew Potts from the Licensing and Gaming unit at Wright Hassall.

Potts ensured that Gallus in Augusta Place is authorised to serve alcohol and remain open until midnight, with the full support of the police – despite a local resident contesting the case.

Wootton Park is a family run farm which has diversified into a Business Park and Events Centre located on the Alcester Road, on the outskirts of the Saxon village of Wootton Wawen.

The site’s Business Centre is fully operational with a purpose-built function facility, adjacent buildings and a field that all now have permission to stage a range of events from functions to sports events and plays with live and recorded music between 8am and 2am, making it a very flexible venue.

“Wootton Business Park already has the potential to be a quality venue but now it has these licences in place it will be even more attractive to people searching for a multi-purpose venue,” said Potts, who has over 40 years’ experience in Licensing and Gaming law.

“There is also space for marquees in the licensed field so with this authorisation it will now be perfect for functions of all sizes.

“The licence for Gallus in Leamington was contested by a resident despite the fact that there has always been a restaurant or bar at that address.

“We managed to get the licence after agreeing conditions with the police on this issue of what time it should remain open until and the style of operation.

“The premises, although only recently opened, is already taking its place amongst the town’s premier restaurants.

“These licences apply indefinitely and will help both businesses to prosper.”
