Alan is the Tax Director in the corporate department specialising in managing the cost of employment for businesses of all sizes (SMEs to Large Corporates), advising on Employment Tax Compliance including investigations by HMRC and giving technical advice in respect the taxation and NIC issues arising from a workforce including Directors and Non Executives.
Alan has introduced arrangements where businesses have created cash savings ranging from £75,000 - £2million per annum in numerous business sectors from Financial, Construction, Logistics, Automotive and Facilities Management through to Retail .
He has also helped a number of businesses to reduce claims from HMRC in respect compliance visits including negotiating with HMRC on behalf of the client.
Background
Previously a Senior Inspector of Taxes, Alan moved to Coopers & Lybrand in 1986 (which became Price Waterhouse Coopers) and then joined KPMG in 2004 where he lead their Employment Tax Team in the Midlands.
His clients included DHL, Interserve Plc, Wincanton plc, Coventry Building Society, TDG plc, Peugeot Citroen, BMW, Dunelm and Carillion.
Interests
A mad keen golfer discovering the sport later in life and exploring Europe from the Tuscany hills to the small Greek Islands many of which have not changed for centuries.
