Claire-Elaine deals with a wide range of property disputes. Her particular areas of interest are:
- Residential, Commercial and Agricultural Landlord & Tenant issues – Repairs & Dilapidations, Renewals & Rent Reviews, Break Notices, Landlord & Tenant Insolvency, Service Charge Disputes, Forfeiture & Possession, Breach of Terms and Agency Agreements.
- Boundary Disputes
- Easements – Rights of Way, Rights of Lights and Restrictive Covenants
- Nuisance – including damage to Property
- Trespassers & Squatters
Claire-Elaine provides effective tailored advice for a wide range of clients and has experience of using a range of alternatives to litigation to resolve property-related disputes. She has also appeared successfully before the Court of Appeal in a case related to Break Notices.
Background
Claire-Elaine graduated with a degree in Cultural Studies & Sociology from Birmingham University in 2003 and went on to study law at The College of Law in Birmingham. She completed her professional studies in 2005 and qualified as a Solicitor in 2008 while working with HBJ Gateley Wareing LLP. She went on to win the legal category of Birmingham Young Professional of the Year in 2009. Claire-Elaine joined Wright Hassall’s Property Dispute Resolution team in 2010.
Claire-Elaine is the current Chair of the Coventry and Warwickshire branch of The Association of Women Solicitors. She also co-ordinates events in Warwickshire on behalf of the Midlands branch of The Association of Women in Property. She is actively involved with Coventry and Warwickshire First and is currently working with them on a mentoring scheme to improve the skills and retention of young professionals in the county. She also forms part of the Skills & Employability Group for Coventry & Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership. Claire-Elaine also maintains her links with Birmingham and still sits on the Community Development Committee that she founded for Birmingham Future, which provides a platform for Birmingham’s young professionals to engage with the community which they will one day lead.

Claire-Elaine enjoys ice skating, dancing, voluntary work and growing her own vegetables.
