Steven is a partner in the corporate department specialising in banking, specialist corporate finance, restructuring, financial services, regulation, transaction and international work. Over the last twenty years, he has worked in the City of London and other major financial centres. His recent experience includes:
acting for a management team on £15m MBO of CAD software business using "Islamic" finance structures
advising a financial services group on commercial transactions, product development and FSA compliance subjects
advising a sub-prime mortgage lender on regulatory matters
advising a principal finance-backed team on all legal/contractual and regulatory aspects of a precious metals trade funding programme
Background
After graduating from Birmingham University, Steven gained a Diploma in French law from Limoges and then a Master in Business Law from London before joining Freshfields. He then joined Linklaters where he worked in London, Paris and Hong Kong before moving to Masons (now Pinsent Masons) in 1994 where he was a partner specialising in commercial / corporate finance transactions involving infrastructure and PFI projects. He moved to Sherrards in St. Albans / London before joining Wright Hassall in May 2008. Steven can conduct business in French, German and Norwegian.
