Gemma focuses on assisting clients in carrying out the practical implementation of the advice of the legal team.  She specialises the following areas:-

  • Conducting disciplinary and grievance investigations, hearings and appeals, including complex matters
  • Carrying out the necessary consultations in relation to harmonisation of terms and conditions
  • Implementation of new terms and conditions
  • Discharging client’s instructions in recruitment and selection processes and advising on best practice
  • Conducting consultations with staff in relation to office relocations and closures
  • Managing large and small scale redundancy and restructure programmes including formulating selection criteria, carry out staff consultations and formal staff meetings
  • Carrying out staff consultations and due diligence exercises in respect of TUPE transfers.

Gemma provides initial Human Resources advice to start up companies and support to established businesses on a regular or ad hoc basis, offering a tailored service, enabling businesses to run more effectively.

Gemma can help with:-

  • Reviewing and preparing contracts of employment, Compromise Agreements, Handbooks, policies and procedures
  • Assisting and providing support on Employment Law matters
  • Preparation of documentation for Employment Tribunals including witness statements and tribunal bundles
  • Resolving people management issues including disciplinary, grievances and sickness absences matters
  • Designing and delivering people management skills training for line managers
  • Designing, advising and conducting recruitment and selection programmes for all levels of staff
  • Implementation of performance management frameworks to support individual business needs
