Gill advises on all aspects of commercial property and has dealt extensively with retail property, non-contentious landlord and tenant, freehold acquisitions and disposals including investment property and general portfolio management work. She has also dealt with secured lending work acting for both banks and borrowers and also has considerable experience of dealing with non-contentious insolvency property transactions (acting for insolvency practitioners and for purchasers) and corporate support.
Her recent work has included acquisitions (including out of town retail parks), disposal and general management work for TUI UK Limited and its group companies which include Lunn Poly and Thomson. She has also advised Bravissimo Limited and Intercontinental Hotels Group on their respective property portfolios. As part of the secured lending unit, Gill has undertaken work as a panel solicitor for HBoS. She has also acted for a substantial hotel group (including their head office relocation), a national IT company and a number of other regional corporate clients.
Background
Gill qualified with Alsop Wilkinson in 1987 (which merged and became DLA) and remained with them until 1997. After a career break with her two daughters, Gill joined Wright Hassall in May 2001. At Alsop Wilkinson/DLA, Gill acted for several national retailers, a merchant bank on secured lending transactions and she dealt with the regional premises work for one of the main clearing banks. Gill also dealt with the north-west premises work for one of the largest firms of accountants in the UK and the property work on the flotation of a major sportswear retailer.
