Kelly Tomkinson neé Dowling joined the immigration team at Wright Hassall in January 2011. Kelly was drawn to immigration law because of her international background. She is a dual national and has US and British citizenship. She has lived in the USA, Iran, Thailand and the Philippines and her parents now live in Hawaii.
Kelly has over ten years experience advising on immigration and nationality law. She has a wealth of experience providing advice and assistance to corporate and private clients, primarily in relation to the categories of stay based on business/work/skills. She also advises on student and family categories as well as European Free Movement rights and British nationality.
Background
Kelly read Psychology and Anthropology at Durham University and completed a Master's degree in Social Anthropology at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London. After working on the Southeast Asia desk at the International Secretariat of Amnesty International, she decided to pursue a career in law. Kelly completed her LPC at the University of Westminster and College of Law in London and was admitted as a solicitor in March 1999. Kelly joins us from specialist immigration firm, Sturtivant & Co in London, where she was a Solicitor for over seven years.
