Ruth is a Paralegal within the commercial litigation team. As an International disabled athlete she brings a wealth of experience and practical knowledge into the Sports Law and Equine Law teams.

  • Disputes arising out of horse purchase, sale, training and keep of horses and ponies, including breach of contract and misrepresentation

  • WADA Code including individual sport anti-doping regulations

Background

Ruth has been an avid, and competitive, horse rider since the age of 4. Pursuing this passion further, Ruth attained a BSc (Hons) in Equine Science in 2007. Prior to this in 2004, Ruth suffered a near fatal horse riding accident while Eventing. Her injuries caused a permanent disability but in fighting spirit Ruth entered the world of disability sport in 2007. She is now a devoted International Para-equestrian athlete who is gearing up to compete at the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016.

In 2008 Ruth was awarded her GDL from the College of Law in Birmingham and completed her LPC in 2009. She was awarded an LLB from the College of Law for her successful completion of the two courses.
Interests

As well as her equestrian and international sporting activities, Ruth spends most of her spare time visiting National Trust and Heritage properties throughout the UK.
