Once you have the death certificate, take this to the funeral director. The funeral director will then take you through all the steps necessary to plan the funeral. The deceased may have had a savings plan and you should look for this first. Payment for the funeral usually comes out of the deceased's estate. Most banks will allow the executors (the people with the authority to administer the estate) to request a cheque from the deceased's account to pay for the funeral.
