Ask for detailed product specifications and plenty of information about the product (or service). Get answers in writing wherever possible, and keep a record of any other claims made by the seller or manufacturer. Keep any samples provided for reference.
When you order, insist that the product must match the specification and state what quality you expect. If prompt delivery is important, let the seller know in writing. Tell the seller what you will use the product for.
