Reporting to Regulatory Bodies

GMC

The GMC sets the professional standard for all doctors practising in the UK and maintains a register of all doctors it has licenced to practise.

If the GMC finds that a doctor has failed to meet the professional standards it has set, the doctor can be disciplined and conditions put on their practice or in extreme cases they can be “struck off” the register, so they can no longer pracise at all.

We can advise you on this process.

Other Professional Groups

If you have a serious concern or complaint about any other health professional they too will have a regulatory body such as the GMC who set standards for their profession.

We can help you with any concern you may have and can advise on the procedure followed by the GMC and other professional groups.

For more information on reporting to regulatory bodies, please contact Jeanette Whyman.
