Appointed on numerous occasions over the past 12 years, the majority of appointments being under 1996 Act. Appointed by CIArb, Law Society, Institute of Chartered Accountants and party agreement.
Matters referred under construction contracts include valuation, extension of time, loss/expense, determination, defects.
Under other contracts: professional negligence, partnership disputes, defective surveys, share valuations, disputes between directors, interpretation of commercial contracts, import and export disputes
Values in dispute ranging from £500 to £20 million
Arbitrations conducted under CIArb, JCT, CIMAR and LCIA Rules
A number of appointments have also been undertaken under various scheme arbitrations including the Surveyors Professional Indemnity Panel
Arbitrator in more than 60 cases of which approximately 40 proceeded to a final award.
