Buying a flat

Buying a flat is similar to buying a house but there are some important differences. See our factsheet on Buying a flat for an overview of the process. 

Buying and selling at the same time

If you are selling and buying at the same time, the principles are exactly the same as doing the transactions separately, but naturally, the two transactions will need to proceed side by side.

You should be aware that the Law Society only allows us to contact the solicitors acting for the immediate party in each transaction and delays can be caused by other parties in the "chain". Accordingly, you should always be cautious about discussing prospective dates for completion.  You can be assured that we will do everything possible to ensure that your transaction proceeds smoothly.
