One of the best things about doing a training contract at Wright Hassall is the wide variety of work you get to do, which is borne out of the diverse range of clients the firm has. I’ve been involved in a dispute between two neighbours over where the hedge that divides their two gardens should be and helped draft an app development agreement for a local software developer. I’ve got to advise a local hairdresser on the terms of their new commercial lease and I’ve negotiated a commercial contract for an international telecommunications provider worth over a quarter of a billion pounds! This variety helps make it so that no two days are the same and provides opportunities to learn about new niche areas of law or new industries.

When joining a firm the size of Wright Hassall you could be worried that you’ll be stuck making the coffee or not get to know many people… nothing could be further from the truth! Everyone is friendly and welcoming and you’ll be surprised how many people you know on a first name basis around the firm before too long. The partners and senior fee-earners trust you to do work to a high standard, which means you can get stuck in to some really interesting pieces of work and hone your legal skills, just as you’ve been dying to do after all those hours of lectures and training contract applications.
