Advising a charity beneficiary

Charities rely on legacies to support the work that they are doing.Problems with regard to probate can cause considerable problems for charities when seeking to access these legacies.

There were two executors named in the deceased’s will but one of them had pre-deceased and the other wanted to renounce probate. The residuary beneficiaries were two charities and our client was one of the charities.

We helped our client to appoint a member of its staff to act as the administrator of the estate.

The estate was administered and the two charities received the money due to them.
