Professor Rudi Klien is Chief Executive of the Specialist Engineering Contractors’ (SEC) Group, an umbrella body representing the UK’s premier trade associations involved in the specialise engineering sector. He is a barrister specialising in construction law and President of the NEC Users’ Group.

Rudi is acknowledged as the driving force behind the changes that have been introduced over the years to improve payment performance in the UK construction industry.

Rudi regularly chairs and speaks at national and international conferences and seminars on construction issues relating to infrastructure, public sector procurement practices, supply chain management, treatment of SMEs and legal developments. He is recognised by the national press and construction press as the go-to authority on matters affecting construction.

Tony Bingham

Tony became a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Arbitration in 1981 and has now significant experience as sole Arbitrator and as President of 3-member tribunals. His arbitral appointments outside of UK include Sweden, West Indies and East Africa. Most appointments are for Civil Engineering & Building disputes since Tony Bingham is dual qualified being a Chartered Surveyor, Chartered Builder and practising Barrister.

Tony is an experienced Arbitrator in Building and Civil Engineering disputes. He has direct experience of management of construction projects, the management of subcontracts and has spent "real" time on site.

John L Riches

Mr John L. Riches is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Chartered Builder with more than 40 years’ experience in the construction industry and dispute resolution.

He started as a surveyor and moved on to develop his interests in dispute resolution in all facets of the construction industry. His experience covers all types of construction works including large and medium scale building works, power stations, nuclear and process engineering installations, roadworks, river works and sea defences.

John formed and owns Henry Cooper Consultants with a wide remit of consultancy services to the construction industry.

Michael Rowlinson

An experienced construction professional having qualified initially as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and later as a Chartered Builder, Michael specialises in all aspects of contract drafting, contract management, contract administration, construction law, claims and dispute resolution. As part of his work Michael lectures extensively and has written many published articles and two books the NEC3 family of contracts.

Michael started work in the Construction Industry in 1976 since which time he has gained experience in most areas of construction including building, both new build and refurbishment, civil and water engineering including clean and dirty water, reservoirs, heavy concrete structures, roads, bridges and rail, process engineering and mechanical and electrical installations.

Michael is also the author of several published articles in connection with his areas of specialisation
