Kevin Hall, VAT partner at Wright Hassall, has successfully defended a gastropub against a £170k fraud accusation by HMRC.
Kevin was advising the business’ accountants who had recently inherited the work for this client. The case was complex due to concerns with the previous accountant’s advice.
The newly appointed accountant was therefore also at risk if the gastropub had lost its case.
