Dodo Pizza – which is in 675 locations across 14 countries – has signed a 15-year lease for 1,608 square feet of ground floor space at 52-54 Warwick Street, which used to form a part of the former Co-op store.
Dodo Pizza’s Leamington base - which has created around 20 jobs - began serving takeaways just before Christmas after support from Wright Hassall, who helped the business to obtain a premises licence to serve alcohol with their food.
Dodo Pizza was formed in Russia in 2011 and has since grown to become the largest pizza company in its homeland – and is now targeting the UK where it already has four branches in Coventry, Walsall and Brighton as part of a wider goal to grow its international presence across Europe, Africa and Asia.
John Gregory, Head of Planning and Licensing at Wright Hassall, supported Dodo Pizza with their premises licence.
He said: “We are really pleased to have helped such a big brand with their move into Leamington Spa - despite the challenging economic conditions caused by the pandemic.
“The premises licence we have obtained for Dodo Pizza will hopefully enable them to generate strong levels of trade from takeaways during the lockdown and beyond.
“It’s great to see businesses of this size providing long-term commitment to Leamington, and we wish them all the best for the future.”
