The much debated and long awaited Housing and Planning Bill is now on the statute books. The Bill finally received Royal Assent on 12 May 2016, becoming the Housing and Planning Act 2016 (“the Act”).

Whilst now enacted, most of the key provisions of the Act will not take immediate effect. We now wait for the critical secondary legislation and regulatory amendments.

We will be issuing further detail on the key aspects of the Act in due course.
