Consumer protection - tired of paying those additional booking fees?

On 6th April 2013 the Consumer Protection (Payment Surcharges) Regulations 2012 (the “Regulations”) came into force. These aim to limit those annoying situations (annoying for the consumer that is) where, after buying tickets for the show you really want to see, you are then told that you must pay an additional booking fee for wishing to pay by credit card. In this article we set out the basics behind these new Regulations, how they protect consumers and what steps businesses should be taking so that they do not act contrary to them.
