Dawn Reynolds advises on all types of property disputes. She has extensive experience of helping businesses to resolve a broad range of disputes, guiding them through the resolution process, whether that be mediation, arbitration, expert determination, adjudication, tribunal or court proceedings.

In addition to resolving disputes, Dawn works closely with clients to formulate their property portfolio strategy which can be challenging in the current economic climate. Dawn specialises in advising on commercial landlord and tenant property disputes. She acts predominantly for corporate occupiers, particularly retailers. However, her expertise extends to advising institutional landlords and banks in relation to their property portfolios and associated disputes.

Dawn also has experience of working with developers in relation to third party claims over development sites.

Experience

  • Advising a multinational corporate occupier in relation to all aspects of its property management issues arising from its portfolio in the UK. This includes advice on breach of covenant issues, exercise of break options, rent review, surrender agreements, dilapidations and service charge disputes.
  • Advising and securing a favourable settlement for a global chemical company in relation to a substantial dilapidations claim.
  • Advising and representing a national residential developer in an application to discharge, modify and amend restrictive covenants over a major development site. 
  • Advising in relation to fraud, breach of warranty and negligence claims which relate to property.

Career

Dawn was a trainee at Wright Hassall from 1999 to 2001. She moved to work for Reed Smith until 2008 when she moved to Hill Hofstetter (the de-merged Birmingham office of Reed Smith) from 2009 to April 2013.

Interests

Dawn enjoys running, watching rugby and spending time with her two children.
