Experience

  • Recently dealt with two proprietary estoppel claims of note, both of which involved a farm belonging to the deceased. The claims required us to be creative in our thinking when trying to achieve a settlement, which is only possible with our agricultural sector knowledge and a proper understanding of how things work ‘on the ground’.
  • Successfully secured the removal of an executor and obtained a costs order imposing a personal costs liability against the removed executor.
  • Having advanced a case that a will had been negligently drafted by a firm of solicitors, Katie successfully negotiated a Deed of Variation with two well-known national charities so as to re-direct the entire Residuary Estate to her client.
  • Katie has recently settled a professional negligence case against a firm of solicitors which resulted in the client receiving damages from the opponent.

Career

Katie graduated from Coventry University with LLB (Honours) and studied her LPC at the College of Law, Birmingham. Katie trained with the firm and qualified into the litigation department in March 2011.
