Israr is experienced in dealing with disputes related to tax avoidance schemes, pensions, HMRC enquiries and negotiations. He has a detailed understanding of HMRC compliance activity with wide-ranging technical knowledge.

At HMRC, Israr was the theme lead for Post Disguised Remuneration Employer-Financed Retirement Benefit Schemes (EFRBS) and Deputy Litigation Lead for the Disguised Remuneration channel, including issues around the Loan Charge.
Having previously worked on “the other side” for HMRC, Israr has a depth of knowledge in relation to most tax schemes and dealing with HMRC officers. He also played a key part in providing technical support, dealing with complex queries and authorising settlement figures and agreements as part of the Disguised Remuneration settlement opportunity. Israr drafted a national review of the Accelerated Payment Notice process leading to changes in the process.

Israr is AAT qualified with degrees in Law from Staffordshire University and Professional Studies in Taxation from Manchester Metropolitan University. Israr joined the commercial litigation team at Wright Hassall in 2019.
