James specialises in helping clients acquire, fund, build, deliver and dispose of commercial real estate assets.
James builds very close relationships with his clients and wants to see them succeed and tries to act as an extension to their internal team.
James prides himself on finding practical solutions to problems and exploring ways to get from ‘A’ to ‘B’ as quickly as possible whilst ensuring his clients are properly protected.

James has extensive development experience having worked on significant portfolio acquisitions and his recent experience includes:
- Leading a team advising a real estate fund on the acquisition of a business and science park in the home counties from one of the world’s leading higher education institutions;
- Advising an overseas company on the opening of a major UK manufacturing and distribution hub in the North West of England;
- Advising a well know West Midlands Property company on the forward funding of a 65,000 sq ft industrial scheme in Coventry.

James graduated from the University of Birmingham with a degree in history before converting to law.
James trained and qualified at Mills and Reeve. James initially specialised in non-contentious construction work before changing his specialism to property. The background in construction is particularly useful when dealing with development documentation and deals.
Before joining Wright Hassall, James spent time working at both Gateley Plc and Gowling WLG in their commercial development and investment teams.

Outside work James focuses on his family, and when time allows he enjoys rugby, football and cricket and travelling to Italy.
