Sophie Wahba

Associate

Sophie advises both individuals and businesses on a range of contentious and non-contentious employment law issues.

"Sophie was very accommodating with her time and very thorough in her explaining how she could advise me legally. Once we had our initial conversation, I came out feeling assured that I had the calming support from someone with a breath of legal knowledge and nothing short of absolute professionalism"

A satisfied client

Experience

  • Acted for an individual who had been dismissed from a large public sector employer on the basis that she was a part-time worker. Achieved a successful settlement, which included reinstatement into her former role.
  • Represented a national retail chain in defending several employment tribunal cases. Obtained a favourable settlement in a number of these cases and, in one instance, successfully applied for the tribunal to strike out the claimant’s claim.
  • Instructed by a company to advise in relation to a lengthy capability process to manage an employee on long term sickness absence.

Career

Sophie obtained a First-Class Honours degree in law at the University of Westminster. She spent her third year studying at the University of Alicante, Spain. She then went on to obtain a Distinction in her Legal Practice Course from the University of Law, London Bloomsbury.

Sophie qualified in September 2018 and has specialised in employment law since qualification.

Interests

In her spare time, Sophie thoroughly enjoys cooking and baking and often spends her time experimenting with new recipes. She also enjoys reading, going for walks with friends and exercising.
