In memory of Neal Patterson
28.8.73 – 15.8.25
Our much-loved and dear colleague, Neal Patterson, sadly passed away on 15 August 2025.
Neal joined Wright Hassall in April 2023 as a Partner in our Agriculture Team. He quickly became hugely popular across the firm and was deeply respected within both the farming and business communities - locally and in his home region of Leicestershire.
During his time with us, Neal was appointed Practice Lead for our Private Client Group, a role he relished. He became a trusted mentor to his teams and inspired many through his leadership. He also completed the Advanced Course in Agricultural Business Management at the Royal Agricultural University, becoming a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Farmers - an achievement he was rightly proud of.
A true countryside enthusiast, Neal loved everything about the outdoors. He was a passionate advocate for farming, with a soft spot for Massey Ferguson tractors, Land Rovers, and a keen interest in all types of livestock.
Neal’s love of rugby shone through in everything he did. A dedicated supporter of Wooden Spoon, he was a tireless fundraiser for the charity and proudly wore his Wooden Spoon striped tie and blazer to any function he could.
An accomplished sportsman, Neal took part in the London Marathon, triathlons, and continued to share his love of rugby through both playing and coaching.
We at Wright Hassall will miss him dearly. We will remember his warmth, kindness, and the generosity of spirit he showed to everyone - within the firm and beyond.
Neal leaves behind a lasting legacy, and we are currently considering how best to commemorate him. We will update this page in due course.
RIP Neal. Gone too soon, but never forgotten.
