We are delighted to invite you to our Lease re-gears webinar.
In an effort to maintain occupancy levels on the high street and stabilise increasingly strained landlord / tenant relationships, lease re-gearing has become a popular way to review and modify a lease, often providing short-term relief during challenging periods of economic uncertainty.
Although recent government moves to halt the immediate economic fallout from the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, by way of business rates holidays and temporary protection from eviction, are certainly more eye-catching in the short term, re-gearing is part of a long-term effort to stop a crisis on the high street becoming a catastrophe.
This webinar will explore the benefits of lease re-gearing, highlight how best to document them, the potential pitfalls and alternative options available. We will also consider common VAT and SDLT implications.
The session is of relevance to both landlords, tenants, investors, corporate occupiers, property professionals, accountants and commercial advisers who work in and around the Commercial Real Estate Sector.
Whilst lease re-gearing won’t solve all of the high street’s problems, it is one practical measure that can be deployed by landlords and tenants to keep their respective businesses on track.
