Andrew has had many years of corporate recovery experience in Birmingham and the West Midlands.

He has dealt with a diverse range of companies from brickworks, retailers, slaughter houses and motor component manufacturers to hotels and time-shares, and has acted either for Insolvency Practitioners in the sales or for buyers of the undertakings. Andrew has particular experience in advising SMEs on acquisitions and disposals when restructuring the business is part of the process.

    • Advises on director’s duties in insolvent companies.
    • Advises on all aspects of wrongful trading, misfeasance and preference transactions and recovery of dividends paid wrongfully by directors when a company is in liquidation. Also advises recipients of similar proceedings against them.

    • Advises on preference claims where the bankrupt has made payments to associates prior to bankruptcy. Acts on applications to recover the monies from the parties in receipt of preference payments.
    • Advises on annulment of bankruptcy when a bankrupt intends to settle all the debts, costs and expenses of their bankruptcy. 

    Career

    Andrew has dual qualifications in Zimbabwe and the UK. He joined Wright Hassall in March 2005 to head up the recovery and insolvency team.
