Melissa advises on a range of construction and engineering matters, of a contentious and non-contentious nature.
More recently, Melissa has primarily been involved in more contentious-related matters including providing project advisory services, and leading and assisting in the resolution of construction and engineering disputes by way of adjudication, court proceedings, arbitration and other ADR processes including mediation, negotiation, or expert determination. In doing so, Melissa has acted on behalf of all protagonists in a construction and engineering project including developers, employers, main contractors, specialist sub-contractors and professional consultants.
Experience
Melissa has gained experience in the Debt Recovery Team, Real Estate Group, Outsourcing Technology & Commercial Team, the Commercial Litigation team and the Construction and Engineering Team.
Career
After gaining her law degree at the University of Leicester and LPC with a Masters at the University of Law, Melissa joined Wright Hassall as a Paralegal in 2021.
Melissa successfully completed her Training Contract at Wright Hassall, which included periods in the Construction and Engineering and Commercial Litigation Teams. Melissa qualified into the Construction and Engineering team in October 2024.
Interests
Outside of work Melissa enjoys climbing and bouldering. Melissa also enjoys travelling to new places and has recently been to Nepal, Morocco and India.
