Head of HR
Role Purpose
To lead our team that consistently delivers a high level of generalist support across the firm, fostering a service-oriented culture. As well as delivering transformational culture change in support of our aspiration to become an exceptional place to work.
HR Strategy & Operations
- Responsible for aligning the people and talent strategy with the firm's overall strategy.
- Manage the HR team in delivering a service-oriented HR function, supporting the needs of the various internal stakeholders in ensuring delivery of the firm's business objectives
- Support members of the Senior Leadership Team including development and ownership of the annual HR budget.
- Ensure positive employee relations including HR policies and procedures remain relevant and effective in supporting workforce challenges and up to date in accordance with employment legislation.
Engagement & Culture
- Continuously develops methods to ensure talent is engaged and aligned to the firm's values.
- Provide support and input to create and maintain the culture of the firm.
- Support the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion committee to embed equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout the firm.
- Research and understand industry trends to foster best practice that reflects our FAIR values and enhances employee diversity, inclusion, engagement and wellbeing
Talent Acquisition and Retention
- Create / implement imaginative and forward-thinking attraction and recruitment strategies for both lawyers and non-lawyers within the business ensuring the Talent Acquisition team deliver against resourcing requirements and within budget.
- Manage the talent acquisition team to ensure a positive employer brand
Reward & Payroll
- Deliver an effective reward and recognition strategy to attract and retain the best talent ensuring all aspects of rewards and benefits are line with the Firm’s EDI strategy
- Own the employee insurance renewal process to ensure value for money.
- Own payroll to ensure that employees are paid accurately ensuring adherence to statutory requirements
- Deliver an effective compensation process to ensure pay and bonus plans are innovative, competitive and aligned with the industry whilst ensuring fairness in line with the Firm's EDI strategy
- Deliver the annual gender pay review process ensuring plans are in place to close the gap
Organisational Design & Development
- Maximise the efficiency of teams in the firm by supporting organisational design implementation to ensure high performing teams across the firm.
- Ensure that all change programmes have strong input and support from a people perspective.
Learning & Development
- Implement innovative learning and development programmes across the business to ensure technical capability and development at all levels
- Own the Learning & Development budget to ensure maximum return on investment
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience of successfully operating in a standalone or small HR team.
- Experience of delivering a high-quality HR service.
- Equally comfortable in developing HR strategy and carrying out basic admin tasks.
