"I was really pleased with how professional Laura was with my case she covered everything thoroughly and responded to my concerns straight away I would recommend Laura as she has done everything in a kind and thoughtful way"
Laura has experience of helping clients with the issues that arise following relationship breakdowns, but also where parties are looking to progress their relationship by moving in together, getting married or entering into a civil partnership. Laura’s experience includes:
- Drafting and advising in relation to pre-nuptial agreements, sometimes where considerable wealth is involved and one or both parties seek to protect their assets in the event of the marriage breaking down.
- Advising in relation to the division of assets on divorce, including high net worth individuals and where various types of asset are involved.
- Drafting cohabitation agreements, declarations of trust and dealing with property disputes when an unmarried couple separates.
- Advising in relation to child arrangements. Laura regularly deals with complex children disputes. She has dealt with several cases where there have been protracted proceedings spanning a number of years and the Court is faced with parties making serious allegations against the other and having to consider changing a child’s residence. Laura has experience of dealing with cases with jurisdictional issues and where there have been persistent breaches of orders by a party. One of the highlights of Laura’s career has been representing a client in a matter where the children were residing under the witness protection scheme and the Court had to determine the living arrangements for the children bearing in mind the serious risks associated with the family.
"I found Laura to be extremely knowledgeable whilst dealing with the legal aspects of my matter, and in my opinion extremely wise in her advice. She communicated information and detail in a manner that made it easy for me to understand, but perhaps more importantly easy for me to consider."
After completing the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at The University of Law in Birmingham, Laura began working for a well known family firm in Birmingham where she qualified in 2015. She then worked for a number of other firms in the West Midlands area before joining Wright Hassall.
Outside of work Laura enjoys travelling, skiing, rock climbing and reading. She also has three rabbits who take up much of her spare time.
